Question: Pain pill addiction - does anyone have any experience with someone who is addicted to pain pills and at the?

Same time doesn't like to take showers but once every 4- 7 days? Our daughter has a pain pill problem and its wrecked some of her teeth. But we've also noticed she will go for days without a shower. I was wondering if the effect of pain pills on the skin makes it uncomfortable to take a shower...or it could be a self esteem thing. No guesses please (I can do that myself)...I need to hear from experience. Thanks.

Speaking from living with someone who lived with addiction: My fiance who died recently had a similar issue at times when he was struggling with his addiction to crack cocaine. He didn't shower for days at a time because he just didn't care. What mattered was using and obtaining his drugs. Daily Habits When someone is addicted to drugs, his first priority is to get the drugs and use them. Other things, such as personal hygiene, take a back seat, so he might wear the same outfit three days in a row and not shower for four or five days. If your coworker usually comes to work dressed professionally with good hygiene and his appearance suddenly changes in a negative way, it could be due to drug abuse or another mental health issue. My thought is to be supportive, remind her to shower. The question posed, does it make it uncomfortable, no. It actually feels better to shower when they have a high going, the problem is that when they shower or bathe when they are high they run the risk of passing out, falling, or harming themselves. Good luck to you, and to her, I hope that all turns around for you soon, drug addiction is very difficult to live with!

It would seem that to be addicted to pain pills you had to first have pain. Since modern medicine doesn't like to cure things but to push pills our way it would make sense that she is still in pain. Anyone who has been in pain and for an extended period of time to top it off will tell you that almost anything they had ever hoped to accomplish has become a distant memory because of the amount of energy needed to fight just to survive and hold your own against something bigger than them. If she had had someone who would help her release the affected muscles she would be out of one problem and then the others are a lot easier to handle. In all it should only take an afternoon to get her headed in the right direction. And it is a natural cure, nothing else is needed to help her, just the needed techniques.

Yes. Do not let her in home or give money until she goes to rehab and stay clean. Soon things will be missing from your home and the only thing I know is NOBODY SURVIVES ADDICTION LONG!!!
