It's going to be just like any other prior addiction. During times of vulnerability or the right environmental cues...you might certainly think about using again...will experience temptation...but the longer you're away from it and recognize how happy you are to be free, the more likely you'll let the passing thought or feeling...to be a passing thought or feeling...you won't want to go back to the days of addiction on purpose! A year of use of a powerful drug like oxycontin is long enough for your brain physiology to be affected...it'll take a while for your brain to recover. Way to go....age 20 with lots of wisdom. You're really doing something awesome for your life...getting cleaned up before you havve so many consequences to deal with...

There's a possibility of it. Anytime you use a drug for an amount of time you're going to have urges for it later on down the road. I've been through the same thing but not with oxycontin, with meth. I smoked it only 3 times about 2 years ago and I still always have urges to find it.

Hi I have been clean from street drugs for 11 years and i still get the urge to use. But all the bad things that happen to me while using make the thought of using leave as soon as it comes. It is not going to solve anything just makes things worse and you hurt more than yourself. So congrats on being free from it. The mind needs positive things to do. God Bless You
