Is it his ocd or his opiate abuse?
My brother has history of drug addiction and my family is almost 100 percent he is snorting heroin now. My brother has always had a bit of an ocd with picking his face but recently it looks terrible. Like he has poured boiling water on his face. I know opiates make you itchy so could his opiate abuse be making his ocd worse? I'm only asking because he just passed his drug test and he is telling us he is clean...but his face says otherwise. When he was in rehab his face was clear and even a month after rehab. What do you think?

a friend of mine snorts opiates all the time and has been snorting this sme amount for a while now so i know he hasnt had anything major happen but he says he wants to commit suicide by snorting more than he does now, how many do you think it will take to do this so i know to watch for things. he snorts approx.at a time. im trying to keep an eye on things and keep track of pills without him knowin it. could someone give me an idea...this is serious,hes suicidal lately and trying to not let me know it, but im trying not to let him know im keeping track of how many of these hes doing..thanks for helpthey are vics and 250 milgX5 6at a time everyday..i think thats the dosagei dont want the police involved.mental health would be betteri really need an exact answer, hes getting more depressed and starting to snort a little more than before, he just keeps talking more of suicide before he does this

My best friend, a single mom with a 20 year old son in rehab for opiate abuse :?
Oxycontin, Methadone, perhaps other pain killers, allows him to drink beer and smoke Marijuana.She tells me these substances do not interfere with some drug he takes to wean off from the opiates he is in rehab for. I disagree.Can anyone who'd know, medical and rehab personnel invited tell me what they think about this? Is this 20 year old in danger drinking beer and smoking weed during his rehab period?

Oh dam Im May of 2008 I did something really bad to my back. In September of that year, I was in a car accident. After the accident, I was in so much damn pain. It showed that I had herniated a disk. I was getting 120 Noroco Vicodin 7.5 Hydro, 325 Apap and 120 Oxy Ir Oxycodone 5 mgs anyways I did abuse them big time. Five months ago, I was taken off of those pain medications. The pain went away. It was the most awful pain ever and I never ever want it back EVER BTW any advice on keeping it away ? ? ? ??? I didn't have surgery. The L4L5 S1 are herniated. It's a " large" herniation according to the doctor. Don't know why the pain decided to go away. While I was on Percocet Oxy Vicodin for that year I still felt moderate pain but I guess the pain meds were working right? Anyways I was put in Suboxone 24mg for withdrawals. I still felt no pain. Not sure if it was because I was constantly on an opiate medication? ? ? I am off of Suboxone. I had to go to a Methadone Detox. It took about a week to detox using Methadone. I NEVEr want to go to a detox again, EVER. I've been opiate free for about a week. This past week all the tooth pain is coming back and just a little white ago the BACK PAIN STARTED. WHAT IS GOING ON? So I see all these post OXYCONTIN VS SUBOXONE. Well let me tell you. Suboxone is a pretty good pain reliever. I didn't find Oxycodone to work THAT well. I mean i was still in moderate pain. ON Suboxone, I felt nothing. Is this wierd or what Has this happened to anyone else? I Don't like pain. Especially that PAIN that goes RIGHT DOWN YOUR BACK and LEG. NO THANKS MISSY. What shouuld i doo? Should I tell my Phsycatrist about my concerns? PAIN DepRession Depression suicidal. How can i get on methadone for opiate abuse?
i've been doing pills now since i was 17 years old .. i'm 23 now. i get so desperate i've even fractured my own wrist to get pain pills from the er. everytime i don't have anything i feel so depressed they're basically the only things in my life that make me in a good mood.. i really don't wanna be like that anymore i was to be normal like everyone else .. i know alot of people say when you get on methadone you're just switching from one drug to another but i think it could help me .. should i just tell me doctor i'm addicted to pills? or do i need to go through detox first?

Can long term opiate abuse cause you to have seizures.?
My friend is telling me he is scared because he has been having seizures. He has been addicted to opiate drugs and continues to do them. Is this a result of the drug abuse or is it some other underlying medical issue. Thank you for all your help.

Is opiate abuse the worst thing you can do?
I want to include heroin, morphine, pain pill patches also into this. I heard that opiates are some of the most painful to come down from, and people keep chasing the high but build up a high tolerance for them quickly. I have back problems, but I prefer tramadol. I have a prescription for hydrocodone also because I have scoliosis, but I took some yesterday and felt like I was speeding, and then after 4 hours I felt like crap. I've also noticed family members sadly becoming hopelessly addicted to them. Those are the one medications that they would beg me for if they knew I had them. But it's a felony to give anyone a controlled substance to other people. And I would be afraid the acetaminophen could hurt or damage their liver of kidneys even more.Also, I've never met my father but I'd been told that he's a heroin addict. So that makes me never want to touch a needle unless an MD or their nurse gives me a shot if needed. And I do not go to emergancy rooms. I think that is a waste of tax payers money.
