My man and i have quite a pain pill habit. we have been taking about 900+mgs of oxycodone 30s and 450- 600mgs of the same for me, we have some methadone 10mg pills, how long should we wait until we take some? And how many mgs should do the trick? And what if we need pain pills ( he just had back surgery and has legitimate pain, although he has most definitly abused that., and for myself i have some health issues that intermittantly give me pain) if we were to take some pain pills would they not work? would he feel pain relief froim the pain pills mixed with the painkilling ability of the methadone? i have been told that it would make u sick to take both in the same day but have seen people do both and still get high.PLEASE HELP....

As a simple rule, leave a 24hour gap before and after taking methadone in your painkiller habit. Methadone slows down your respiratory system A LOT and upsets brain functions, such that alcohol, and most medications with a drowsy side effect, as well as pain killers ( drugs that have an analgesic effect usually have an opid effect also, but I'm not a chemist so don't quote me on that ) can slow it down more. And when you fall asleep you simply stop breathing and die. although it's really not good advice, if you're going to do drugs, pick ONE that you can foreseeability afford to get from decent sources ( pain killers from a doctor will be a lot safer than cut heroin or meth or whatever ) and stick to it. Also it's safer to take the right amount of a prescription drug in an abusive manner ( mainlining/ snorting crushed/ dissolved pills ) than it is to take too much in a normal manner ( a lot swallowed ) as well as being more economic from your perspective. But remember, leave AT LEAST a day between taking methadone ( any amount ) and any other drug whatsoever. especially those with a relaxing, drowsy effect.

I'm not sure I understand wat your looking to gain from the methadone.... Since you have an opiate habit your not going to get high from methadone.... Contrary to popular belief you can take methadone and pain pills ( but not to the extreme that you are taking them) but the methadone will block the euphoric effects of the opiates and you would only get pain relief... I would wait at least 8 hrs before taking the methadone.... And are you looking to take the methadone to get high or pain relief or simply instead of pain pills? I mean if it's simply something u scored once I wouldn't be worried about it blocking the effects of opiates.... But as for how much to take I really do not know.... With the habit you both have it will probably take quite a lot... I'd start with 50 to 100 mgs yeah that's not a typo you said you have the 10 mg tablets your gonna need a ton of them! I used to have a heroin habit that makes your habit look like kindergarten and I would take 200 mgs of methadone ..... And that's an insane amount.... So really your gonna just have to risk it if you wanna take it but if it's not something you get on the regular I'd just stick with opiates...

Ok - The good news here is that once you are on a sufficient dose of methadone (you'll have to start low and slowly increase your dose to get to a "sufficient dose ") you will no longer really need the pain pills on a regular basis. If you are REALLY taking 900 mgs of Oxy a day, you will need about 60 mgs (estimate!) of Methadone to cover withdrawals and pain. Contrary to what you will probably read in articles, Methadone DOES have a euphoric effect if used in slightly higher doses and you RELAX! You DO need to wait about 24 hours before taking the methadone to avoid possible overdose, but after that you shold be fine. If you mix the two, know that taking methadone FIRST will block your opiod receptors, and you will be wasting pain pills. If you take the pills first, you will feel an increased effect, but you are playing a dangerous game, as opiotes and methadone combined CAN be fatal. The best thing about methadone is it is a great pain reliever and does not have the sharp withdrawal syptoms that Oxy has, and it will only show up on a drug test that specifically tests for methadone. It will not show up as a standard opiod. Methadone is also addictive, so though the withdrawals are not as quick or as sharp, they will still be there is stopped suddenly. Good luck!!!
