Question: Detox from methadone?

My brother has a long history of drug addiction. Prescription medications have been his drug of choice for the past several years. He finally confessed to our mother that he is addicted to methadone. No one in my family has the money to put my brother through treatment. Is it possible to go through methadone detox outside of a care facility?
