Can methadone use or withdrawal cause bed wetting?

Question: Can methadone use or withdrawal cause bed wetting?

Hello, with all due respect, please let's skip the part where answers include drugs are bad, and just don't due them, etc., Thank you....So a friend gave me a handful of methadone, and I used them over a four day period. However, I would wake up several times a night having to pee really bad, and sometimes when I woke up in the middle of the night, I had wet myself somewhat...needless to say, this bothers me. So is this due to methadone use and/ or my body getting used to not taking it? I have never tried it before. Thank you in advance for responding with a relevant answer.

Taken from - drugtext.org/ library/ books/ methadone/ section4.html Difficulty passing urine This is a less commonly experienced effect. Opiates can increase the tone of the sphincter muscles that allow urine to pass from the bladder thus making it more difficult to relax them in order to pass urine. This can be aggravated by the methadone also making the bladder contract more strongly causing 'urinary urgency'. - Me personally have been on Methadone now for around 5 years. 10mg 2x a day. I notice that it's hard to actually start going sometimes, but it's not that bad. I've never had incontinence problems with the drug, but I do have to get up a lot during the night. It could also could be that it does cause some 'cotton' mouth and caused you to drink more than you regularly do, and you was just that asleep when you needed to go. Withdrawing will case the bladder to relax everything back to normal and caused that episode. Of course if it does continue or get worse go to your doctor.

Don’t take any drugs without proper prescription because some drugs may suit only few persons. It’s better to consult with a doctor, who might identify the cause clearly and would suggest advanced treatment according to your body’s resistant.
