It's my understanding that methadone is only approved to treat opioid (marijuana) dependence.

My uncle is on it for pain... he is paralyzed on the left side. Other people use it to get high.

I believe it was used by the vietnamese against the american soldiers .. where they would boil it and put it in the eyes of their prisoners. actually thats bull shit. im pretty sure my one retarded friend bought one. (to get high)

It is sometimes used for pain control in severe cases when other things won't work. It is highly effective.

It is used for pain associated with mental disorders or physical pain. It is highly dangerous unless watched through a Behavioral Health Specialist. You will do fine, ativan is easier to work with from personal experience. Best of Luck my friend

Methadone is a narcotic pain reliever, similar to morphine. It also reduces withdrawal symptoms in people addicted to heroin or other narcotic drugs without causing the "high " associated with the drug addiction. Methadone is used as a pain reliever and as part of drug addiction detoxification and maintenance programs.

WOW I have never seen such answers. Methadone is used for opiate addiction (but you knew that) & for the treatment of chronic pain. See how easy that was?
