I've heard of methadone being used to treat a lot of addictions from heroin to benzos to painkillers and even pot lol? . I beiginning to think I might actually have a problem like everyone has been telling me. I guess I was always to fu ed up to admit it. I huff a lot of axe, hairspray, and nailpolish remover. Almost everyday. I really just cant seem to stop. I've actually tried quitting before but the urge was too unbearable and I always gave in and relapsed. Being addicted to Methadone is pretty bad too I would think...I don't know just curious...Good answers so far...I was doing some reading just now from some blogs of ex heroin addicts on methadone. The majority of them said that they have been able to quit heroin cold turkey at one point, however no of them can quit methadone even once. Very interesting stuff...one horribly addicting drug for another...

Hello, with all due respect, please let's skip the part where answers include drugs are bad, and just don't due them, etc., Thank you....So a friend gave me a handful of methadone, and I used them over a four day period. However, I would wake up several times a night having to pee really bad, and sometimes when I woke up in the middle of the night, I had wet myself somewhat...needless to say, this bothers me. So is this due to methadone use and or my body getting used to not taking it? I have never tried it before. Thank you in advance for responding with a relevant answer.

My sister has been acting very strange for about 2 years now, since she got together with her current boyfriend who the WHOLE family HATES . She's tired all the time, falls asleep talking to you even standing up I know they boyfriend used to do heroin because we found old newspaper articles about him being arrested for possession ... at least 3 times that we know of. The most recent was May 2006. And he went to jail for 8 months for that one.Today, my sister's son asked me what methadone is. He said mom and her boyfriend take it. Long story short ... She's not and never has been in any kind of drug program. He's not either, as far as we know. So where do they get it from? Is this something you can buy " on the street" ?Also, if he is in a drug program, that we don't know about, how does he get it to her? My sister in law is a nurse who used to work with addicts and she says if he's in a program they make you take it right there, in front of them ... it's not like they give it you and you can take it home. I can't confront her about this until I know more about it so any help would be great.Thanks By the way, my sister is 35 and does not have any kind of chronic pain.

Hi, i have just started on a methadone programme for Opiate drug addiction. I know very little about methadone, i want to know what dose people take and for what? also how long it is used for? i've heard a lot of people say they've been on it for years and i find that quite disheartening, it just seems like i am swapping one drug addiction for another I also want to know of it's success rate for leaving patients clean of all drugs long term? If anyone has ANY helpful information about Methadone treatment i would really appreciate it. I don't know anyone personally who has been through a methadone program so it would be great to hear anything from people who have had firsthand experience with Methadone. I feel about out of my depth here and need some advise Thanks in advance.
