If you are talking about methadone to get of opiates at a methadone clinic it's 40mg then it can go up to 120mg if you are talking about for pain only your doctor can tell you,, there's a fine line when you first start between pain relief and overdosing. See if you can locate a guy on hear named DynoDikk,, he really is a methadone for pain expert. I'm just an ex heroin addict that was on methadone maintnance. That is based on a great many variables just a few of which are height weight, illicit drug involved and how long and how much has been used. There are a whole set of criteria, and each dose is calculated individually.
