Talk to a doctor and they will probably say that your gut feeling was right. You might be overreacting by thinking she's high when she's not.

So isn't the point of Methodone just to legally replace the heroin so you don't get like bad heroin

Idk, you would probably have to ask someone who you could actually see face to face and trust unlike the people on Y!A. Peace. P.S. My birthday is tomorrow!

Of course you shouldn't take heroin with methadone. Methadone is a substitute for heroin. And it's not designed to give you a buzz, its supposed to control your cravings, like a nicotine patch. If you are serious about getting off heroin you have to give the high up too...

Methadone is a drug that helps you kick the habit of heroin. both methadone and heroin are very addictive. and once you mix both the drugs the addiction is worse......... i know people that work at a clinic that supply methadone and they all say heroin addicts that do not want to kick the habit truly and take both just make there sickness worse

Methadone is a very powerful drug. But it's a cleaner kind of high, not as down and out as heroine or other narcotics. Addicts can function, work, and lead a normal life while being on a maintenance dose. Methadone doesn't have a peak period, it lasts for a long time (24 hours) and the affect is consistent through most of the day. Mixing other drugs, heroine, alcohol with methadone is dangerous. Most clinics do not allow patients to use other drugs while on the program. The whole reason they are taking methadone is to detox off the heroine (or other narcotics), and than gradually reduce the daily dosage. If he recently started the program, he might not yet be use to the methadone and might like high. Most methadone users don't look messed up, but their eyes may still look glassy from the drug in their system. It still affects the central nervous system and it's a depressant. Someone could still look or behave differently than they normally would. By the way some patients on the program still cheat and use heroine anyway. It's a hard road.

The symptoms you are describing sound more like withdrawal. Usually sweats, etc. stop for a Heroin user when they take Heroin and they will appear not sick but very sleepy. If they have just started treatment the symptoms you are describing may be because they are not adjusted on their dose yet and going through some withdrawals still. clinics require drug screens and the first 3 months of treatment they are once a week (longer if they use). Many states have supervised drug screens where someone goes in the bathroom with you (Kentucky is one because that's where I attend). Do some people use Heroin while on Methadone? Yes, unfortunately they do but this usually is short lived because the rules are so strict they get caught. Is it dangerous? Yes. However, the most dangerous combination with methadone is Xanax or other benzodiazepines. If you are concerned for them all you can do is ask them and tell them why you think they are using. Explain that it is merely out of concern that you ask. If they are not honest there is nothing else you can do.
