Hi.i am just curious of others experiences. My husband and I have been on methadone for a year now. at a local methadone treatment center in our area. We have 3 kids. and our lives have improoved 9483 % since treatment. we been together a total of 5 years and the first 3 were nothing but insance drug abuse. herione,pills,oxy'... crack cocaine we said enoughs enough and went into treatment without looking back, even moved to get away from drug dealers to advoid some temptations.My ? is tho, how long do u think I should stay in recovery? Im scared to be there " Forever" ...but i dont thikn im ready to come out yet. I still go thru withdrawn some in the A.m. before my dose.It has saved our relationship and family.this clinic. so im glad for that. but can it do more harm then good in the long run? should we get into counceling? any one with any info im all ears i kno what the ppl say at the clinic, My dr. and nurses and stuff. But i would like real like experiances

Just want to hear peoples opinions of the use of Methadone perscribing for the use of opiate addiction detox. This isn't just about the use of methadone for detox from heroin but also about the detox of all opiate addictive narcotics. Whatdo you think aboiut it, do you have any experience with it, do you think methadone is succesful for detox or not? Or any other opinions you have about methadone use. Have you ever heard of methadone being abused etc....basically anything you want to say I know i've posted a question like this already but i really need some more opinions and i would love to get some comments from past users of opiates or some medical opinions,but any opinion is gret thanks for your help

Anyone out there on Methadone treatment?
I been on pain killers for a few years now and recently started going to a Methadone Clinic to get off of them. It really has helped, I have not bought any in two weeks which is a record for me. The methadone has strange little side effects though. For instance if Im not active, like sitting in my seat not doing nothing i will doze off and have these weird mini dreams that seem so real Or I will jump in my seat as if i was about to fall asleep but quickly startled my self awake. There is nothing about this in the pamphlets i received when i started getting the methadone. So my questions or questions are If you do take methadone do you have anything like this happening to you? If so how long did they last, if they have stopped?Also how long did it take for them to get your dose high enough no pun intended to last you till the next dose?

In methadone treatment is it common to experience intense, scary dreams? the dreams are very vivid and frightening, but they arent user dreams. My counselor says it isnt a side effect of methadone, but many methadone websites say it can be. Any personal experience with this?
