Although methadone is commonly seen as a " non euphoric" opioid drug, it is commonly abused. Say an opioid naive, or even an opiate user who isn't physically addicted, obtains diverted methadone and manages to dose themselves without killing themselves or ending up in the hospital. The person continues to use and eventually runs out and starts to have withdrawals. Would they be eligible for methadone maintenance? Basically can you get on MMT for Methadone abuse?
