I heard dihydrocodeine was a good script to help get off heroin. Safer, less toxic, less expensive, and equally effective as methadone. How do you find a Dr. to prescribe this medication or maybe a different one that would help with heroin detox? |

Methadone is typically perscribed. and you would need to go to a rehab clinic and do your 28 days sorry edits to add another med is Buprenaphine and if your unhappy with your meds just tell the doctor what you asked here. |

You can ask the doctor and he may comply but, on the other hand he may prefer something he likes better, take his suggestion but, like I said you could ask. |

My daughter gets prescribed Saboxone from her psychiatrist.....it costs 180 for the doc appt and 189 for the meds once a month....really expensive but she has been clean for over a year. I am hoping he will start weaning her off soon....... Her regular doctor didn't really know what to do....her psychiatrist specializes in drug addiction, so maybe you could find one like that. I know the above sounds expensive, but I called "turn to help " and they wanted 250 a week or some outrageous amount. It really sucks getting off that shxt |

I quit my Heroin addiction for less than $100 total. It was the easiest thing in the world. Look into Wild Kratom! I basically stopped taking H cold turkey and as soon as my withdrawals kicked in, i drank the opioid Wild Kratom tea and the withdrawal symptoms disappeared within about 10 mins. A few days later, i stopped the Wild Kratom and never touched Heroin again! Or anything else for that matter. Good luck! |

Dihydrocodeine would not be used to detox from heroin because it is another opiate and the goal in detox is to get a person off of all opiates. I would suggest going into a detox clinic where your withdraw symptoms and health can be monitored by medical staff. Your doctor may have you do that anyway because many doctors will not prescribe medications for home detox. But it they are willing to prescribe you medication suboxone is usually used for detox. The other option is methadone but that is more of a maintenance program since people remain on it for extended periods of time (year(s)). There are often free county detoxes (paid for by the government) that you can check into. The catch here though is that you have to test positive for alcohol or benzos because they are the only things you actually can die of withdraw from as bad as heroin withdraw is so if you want to go to a free detox you can figure out what you need to do to get in.... Best of luck! |
