Tell someone in your family or a friend who can help you look into a sober house or support group. Getting over drug addiction by yourself is a lot more difficult and it would be easy for you to slip back into the same habits again. A lot of people move when trying to get off drugs because the temptation is too much living where they know who to get the drugs from. They would be able to give you the best advice for dealing with withdraw and possibly help you along in the process. |

You should talk to your doctor about how to do this. it's possible you could quit cold turkey with somebody to watch over you at all times to help you through the withdrawal & get the stuff out of your system so you can function again. there is a danger to "do-it-yourself " withdrawals, though. some drugs cannot be stopped cold turkey or you risk major health upset...those drugs can be stopped by slowly reducing the dose until out of your system. your doctor can help plan how you go about it by knowing what meds you're on & whether it is possible to stop quickly or by weaning process. good luck & be careful! it can be done. |

RRrrr, Jack A, me lad. Here's what i'mma reckoning.... Ya can't break any drug addiction while the drug is still in ya system. Ya could end an addiction by replacing it with another, but i'm not condonin' that one. Withdraw from anything is the hardest phase in the world. It's longer for some, but every minute of it is torture, I won't lie to ya lad. Here's a crude example for ya, free of charge......try not masturbating forever. It can't be done! Dem hormones will come surgin' through dem veins with redemption and holly hell fire!....sooner or later, of course.....Basically, Mr Jack, it all boils down to "will power ". I'm short of it me-self, so i'mma not gonna start preachin'. But you get the point. One ting to consider is..... if ya don't break an addiction early on, ya might end up with a serious OCD problem when you finally do. So, unless ya look forward to checkin' yer doorknob 256 times before you leave yer house in the future, find some motivation to break the cycle now. That's all I can offer, RRrrrr. |

You need to have strong determination, if you really want to get rid of this addiction. I bet you this addiction will end up killing you, if not it can severely impair you mentally if don't leave this addiction. |

I used to be addicted. What worked for me was that I moved away from all the influence and to a place where I didn't know anybody. If you can't do that, you should try rehab. You can try to quit on your own, but don't lose hope if you relapse. Sometimes it takes a few tries. Just remember that this is something you don't want to do, and eventually you can beat it. Try finding things to do that keep you busy all day. If you have a good support group (family, friends, etc.) they can help keep you busy, or at least give you somebody to talk to. If your friends do drugs with you, you may want to find new friends until you are able to beat the addiction. There sometimes are free resources, like counseling, with your local or state govt. Having somebody to talk to can help alot more than most people think. Hope this helps. Good luck! |
