How you ever been to alcohol detox?
What are your experiences? Did it work?
I'm going into alcohol detox/outpatient care. How long after being sober will I begin to feel better?
I want and need to stop drinking. It was all fun and games at first, but when your killing 30 years a night, this shit just isn't alright anymore. Cutting down doesn't work neither does trying to do it by myself. On monday I'm going to a outpatient detox place. I know it's going to suck for a while, I just want to know when the cravings will go down and I will start to feel like things are looking up. Does it take weeks? months? I'd like an answer from someone who has been through this personally. Thanks for reading this.
Is there an alcohol detox program in Loves Park, Illinois?
I m looking for an alcohol detox program and I prefer a place that is here in Loves Park, Illinois. My boyfriend, Matt, has an alcohol problem. It all started when his brother Joey passed away. Matt and Joey are very close they re partners in crime, they re bestfriends, and they re brothers. Joey died because of a car accident last March. Matt was supposed to pick up his brother from his dorm and drive him back home but he wasn t able to do that because he had to play with his band at a local club. Joey came from a party and he drove his own car well, drunk. He fell asleep while driving and he crashed into another car. Joey died during the accident and Matt never forgave himself for choosing a gig over his brother. Because of his guilt, Matt drowned himself in alcohol. After months of persuasion, I finally convinced him to undergo a detoxification program. Please help us.

Why is my alcohol detox lasting so long?
This is my first question.I realize I am a rare case, so there is no need to point that out.I am almost 25 and recently quit drinking. I was a cronic drinker for the last 7 years. I have not drank in 36 days but who's counting . It was very hard the first 2 weeks and I finally feel like I am not dying. But, I still have no energy and wake up with night sweats every night. Last week my body erupted in break outs and I have never broken out before. Other things have happened, my period was so intence with pain I was crying, and I have missed work with headaches. This was also last week. My question is, why am I still dealing with this? Could it be other issues besides detox? Can I speed it up? Just a little more back ground, I also quit doing cocain at the same time. I was doing a lot everyday and had been for several months straight. Also, I have been dealing with serious eating issues since I was at least 16. But since 20 at least I have thrown up everyday at least once. This I am also trying to quit. For a year or more all I consumed was alcohol. Just admiting this to myself is a huge shock and this new found reality is crazier than any high. Please no insults. I have had a DUI, torn apart relationships, totaled my car and almost died, all years apart. I have finally stopped. Can anyone tell me if it is normal I am still detoxing? Or what I can do to help it along? Thank you.

What is the number one medication in an alcohol detox?
Husbands alcohol detox and Librium prescription?
My husband is an alcoholic, by his own admission. He drinks around 6 litres of cider per day that I am aware of He has visited our G.P for help and he was referred to the local Drug and Alcohol Service which is provided by the NHS.On the 22nd November he will be starting a Home Detox with them. They will visit him daily and check blood pressure etc and talk him through any problems he may have.He is going to be given high doses of Librium and vitamin and minerals, which I have to manage and administer. The Librium is prescribed for 11 days and is gradually reduced from the high dose given at the start of the treatment.Have any of you either gone through the treatment or watched your partner relative friend go through it?Does anyone have any advice either for Him or Me?I have to say I am really proud of him for taking such a big step, but I am not too sure what I should expect? Thank you all in advance XG.Mathers Hope you never need the support of someone else, as they might just take that piece of advice. Thanks for nowt
Please help me find a free/low cost alcohol detox center in southeast PA?
is there anyone that can help me find a free or very low cost inpatient alcohol detox clinic in southeast Pennsylvania preferably between Philly and Allentown area for someone who has no insurance and little money? This is for 2 family members. One is disabled and their health is suffering greatly from this addiction and is in the hospital currently some issues cause by liver disease , my other family members was recently laid off due to the company they worked for closing and their health is not as bad but their addiction does not help stop the other one because they live together. So when the one gets home from the hospital after going through with drawl they treat with adavan they go right back to drinking because the other one did not have treatment. They had agreed to go to detox but while we were working on setting them up at a detox clinic the job loss happened and they cut off their insurance. If anyone can help me find a clinic it'd be greatly appreciated. I need to find one asap before i lose them. And please only relevant and serious answers because im looking for help on finding a clinic and not to be lectured. I'm almost 26 and they've been drinking way longer than that so i'm proud that they finally made the choice and are willing to get help.thank you both for the tips. JoGusto they are my parents and it is incredibly draining on me and my siblings. The ill parent beat cancer and leukemia from result of radiation with cancer and it kills us watching them suffer and I have days where i feel like im losing my mind. It's hard to comprehend how one beats cancer but is killing himself by drinking. I know that if he made it through that, he can overcome this too. For myself I'm considering attending some of those AA meetings for family members of alcoholics. Thank you again

How much does alcohol detox cost?
Someone I know is drinking so bad that I fear he will die soon and he simply does not want to stop no matter what is said to him. I was thinking of driving him to a detox hospital do such things exist? and letting the doctors do what I can't. I know alcoholism is a problem an individual has to overcome by him herself but like I said, he's been drinking heavily for two weeks and hasn't been sober yet. He almost never eats and smokes every ten minutes when awake. He has no health insurance either, so I am asking you straight up cost. I know prices for hospital days are scary but I need to know. No matte rhow high it may be I think it is the only option left.I need to know the price for the detox itself, 1 or 2 days in the hospital stay and the food and other commodities that may be provided. No insurance.
